About Sela Locke

If we can't be recognized for who we are, we try to be recognized for who we're not, like a tube of toothpaste, or a cardboard box. Then people see you and say, 'Wow, look at that toothpaste! It's so good at being toothpaste.'
...
What they don't realize is that anybody can be good at being toothpaste, or a dirty bottlecap. Nobody can be good at being you.

Interests

If you need me, I'll be in my office, vetoing bills

Occupation

These are my principles--if you don't like them, I have others.

He began to wonder why he had felt uneasy at all. It was like a man wondering in broad daylight why a dream had appeared so terrible to him at night.
— Chinua Achebe, Things Fall Apart
